Amnion uses lab quality urine pregnancy tests. These tests may detect the HCG pregnancy hormone at 7 days after conception.
Pregnancy test appointments include the following information:
- Prenatal development
- Abortion information
- Pregnancy options
If the pregnancy test is positive, Amnion offers a limited ultrasound up to 24 weeks from the client’s last period. This ultrasound checks to see if the pregnancy is a viable intrauterine one and also determines the current gestational age of the pregnancy.
Pregnant women and their partners receive:
- Continued counseling and material support (maternity and baby clothes, diapers, etc.)
- Assistance in planning for the future, including parenting support
- Prenatal Education
Our nurses offer one-to-one pregnancy education with clients. The goal of this education is to prepare the client for information she will need for each stage of the pregnancy and includes information about labor and delivery and newborn care and feeding.
Some women experience immediate relief after an abortion and others regret their decision. Sometimes women experience tremendous feelings of guilt, depression, anger, and stress many years after an abortion. We provide one-to-one counsel to women facing emotional stress following an abortion.
We provide referrals for financial aid, medical care, WIC, county social services, housing, adoption agencies, birthing classes, etc.
Amnion offers an abstinence education program in Dakota County middle schools and high schools. For more information or to enroll your school, contact our business office at 952-898-4350.

"Our abortion appointment was scheduled when we decided to go to Amnion. We saw our baby’s beating heart on the ultrasound and we heard that God had a plan for our baby. We shudder to think that we almost ended Isaiah’s life. We will always be thankful to God for Amnion!"
